Apple has released the third beta version of iOS 4.2 and the second beta version of iTunes 10.1 for registered developers. The iOS 4.2 is being tuned ultimately for the iPad, as well as for the compatible models of iPhone and iPod touch. The iOS Beta 3 also bundles the appropriate version of the toolkit for the developers to create applications. Simultaneously, the company released the second beta version of the software iTunes 10.1, which provides compatibility with iOS 4.2 Beta 3. The second beta version iOS 4.2 was released about two weeks ago, and the release of the final version is scheduled for November this year.
After iOS 4.2 installation iPad will support applications running in the background, the folders on the home screen and other innovations (for example folder labels and Game Center). Among the new innovations, the main attraction will go for AirPlay and AirPrint. The former allows you to play content from personal computers and iOS-devices on remote displays and audio systems, and the second – to print documents from iOS-devices on the available network printers via WiFi.The new iOS 4.2 Beta 3 assembly has the following changes:
- Ability to enable / disable various system sounds
- New sounds for SMS-alerts and new pictures on the iPad
- Added a mode of “Location” in Google maps
- Button AirPlay now exists only in iPod and Safari applications
- Increased system performance
- Bug fixes
